Anderson Jump Drive

You should already be familiar with the Anderson Jump Drive. Though inter-system Jump Nodes are naturally occuring and can not be moved or created, intra-system SubSpace "tubes" can be created by the Anderson Drive. All Terran ships are equipped with Anderson Drive units, allowing fast in-system mobility.
Anderson Drives use information in the Navigation Systemst. An entry point and exit point are plotted by the pilot. Once the Anderson Drive recognizes the command, ship control becomes automated (unless overriden by specific pilot command). The Jump Coils take over standard Ion Engine functions and begins emitting SubSpace Carrier Waves that fold space into an artificial Node ending at the designated Nav Point. The craft enters this Node just as it would a naturally occuring Jump Point.
The distances covered by the Anderson Drive are limited to just a little more than the diameter of Sol due to the vast amounts of energy needed to operate. It is not recommended that fighter craft attempt more than one in-system jump between refuelings.
